Who is getting rich?

                                                                                                     June Hoskin

I have read your letters on people's pain in giving up the curse.  I too gave it up two years ago, but thirty five years too late.  I have emphysema & have health issues that are all also related to smoking.  My husband is two weeks into his detox , in giving them up too!  Our generation didn't realise the harm, till most of the damage was done.  However, where are we going wrong, when we still sell the rotten things, the government cleans up with the revenue and then has the affrontery to deny many medical treatments for ex smokers.  The only cure is to stop, the same way you started, alone.  However, this also applies to the government: STOP THE SALE OF CIGARETTES.  This is the only way they will prove that they are serious about a world wide problem.  I have to ask, is there a vested interest in allowing this drug and other street drugs to keep on selling?  Who is getting rich, the men on top of the ladder, or the junkies, dying on the bottom? Best wishes with a daunting job.
