smokefree places
 
   

All indoor and crowded outdoor public places should be smokefree by law. Children, and people in their workplaces, should be protected from secondhand smoke. These places include:


CAMPUSES

Universities and colleges are taking action to make campuses smokefree, to end on-campus tobacco sales and promotion, to break links with the tobacco industry, and to improve on-campus quit support.  See our  tobacco-free campuses  page including our new  Tobacco-free campus guide  - and more  information for tertiary students and staff.

OUTDOOR AND PARTLY ENCLOSED PUBLIC AREAS 
What's happening at state and local government level to get smoke away from crowded areas - to protect children and workers. Also to reduce butt litter and fires. Parks, playgrounds, bus shelters, beaches/waterways, al fresco dining areas & more. 


SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS 
Rundown of law and policy in Australian states and territories.


WORKPLACES
Including licensed venues. People have a right to smokefree workplaces - whether fully enclosed or not. This link is to the SmokeFree Australia coalition of health and trade union groups - of which ASH is a member.
