ASH has compiled a list of the following educational sites on tobacco harm, resources and how to quit. How to quit Call the national quit smoking line on 131848 (13-QUIT). The call is free and advice, support and kits are available 24 hours a day.
The National Tobacco CampaignA user friendly, interactive site which combats smoking through advertisements with graphic images of damage caused by smoking. Includes advice on how to quit in eight different languages. Tobacco in Australia: Facts and IssuesA four hundred page encyclopaedia of everything you ever wanted to know about tobacco in Australia. Victorian Smoking and Health Program - QuitContains a wide range of useful information and activities, including a Tobacco Action Pack, as well as contact list, press releases and an update on Quit News. Contains useful sections on lung cancer and tobacco and smoking. Created and funded by the South Australian Smoking and Health
Project, Smarter than Smoking Project (WA) and Quit Victoria to
promote and encourage healthy lifestyle choices and provide
information on the impact of tobacco.
Facts on
drugs and information on tobacco including legal status, composition,
short and long term effects and information on passive smoking. University of Sydney Department of Public Health and Community Medicine (AUS)Tobacco Control Super Site offers training programs and links for public health researchers and advocates with a focus on the Australian industry documents and tactics.
